With having the Starboard Start on sort of loan and the weather being so good decided to rig up my 6.3 and take it for a sail. Got out on the water and started to mess around tacking and gybing it, generally just playing seeing what it could do. Started to feel that it was just about planing, so went back in and rigged my 7.1. A perfect choice as the board came up on thye plane straight away, a strange feeling something so big planing so easily. Unfortunatly the footstraps weren't in the right postion but it didn't make much difference as the decking is so good, I could place my foot anywhere and it would stay. Was out for about 2 hours sailing up and down the beach in my SHORTS!! How good? After a while came in so Stevebus could have a go. He came in after about 15mins as he was going to rig up and go out. I had my cross out so took it for a sail got on the plane a few tiimes but was always on the edge. The wind started to die and spent more time off the plane than on but by this time had been out for a good 4hrs. I came in Stevebus was still out having a good time on his big board.
All in all a great day as I hadn't expected to much apart from play on the Start on the beach front but got some good planing runs in my shorts.
Would give it 5 stars purly on the weather front so it'll have to be 4 instead :-)
